The writer

Paolo Cruz.

Writer of Ordinary Tuesdays.
Employee benefits consultant. Persistent question asker.

I’ve spent much of my career inside complicated systems. Claims, operations, sales, consulting, employee benefits. The work keeps returning to a practical question: how do you help another person understand what matters, decide what comes next, and feel less alone with the uncertainty?

I’m a Client Executive at IMA Financial Group and the writer of Ordinary Tuesdays, a weekly essay publication about trust, work, attention, judgment, and becoming someone people can rely on.

Ordinary Tuesdays is first published on LinkedIn. This site collects those essays in one reading archive. Find me on LinkedIn

The essays move through offices and kitchens, family and friendship, watches and ferries, mistakes and memory. A small question often becomes a different question by the time I’ve finished following it.

Why Ordinary Tuesdays?

Tuesday is when the week has stopped introducing itself. People are doing the work in front of them. Those days have a lot to say about what we notice, what we carry, and what other people learn to expect from us.

Each essay is one complete idea worth carrying into the rest of the week. You can read quickly, stop at a sentence, return three days later, or follow the archive in whatever order makes sense to you.

Relentless Competence

The writing grew from the questions behind my completed manuscript, Relentless Competence: A Field Guide to Building Confidence in an Uncertain World. The book remains a book. Ordinary Tuesdays is the ongoing conversation.
